My client is a leading name in the biopharma industry and now seek an experienced Head of Contract Manufacturing Operations to support execution of various external manufacturing projects. The incumbent will lead a cross functional team responsible for external manufacturing
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the selection and set up of contracting of external contract manufacturing organizations, laboratories and cell bank manufacturing sites
- Liaise as point of contact for contractual issuance, quality issues and escalation of issues
- Initiate and drive change controls to completion
- Provide technology transfers and validation support and development of plans to meet capacity needs
- Resolve manufacturing issues and minimize supply disruptions by supporting and leading technology transfer of processes
- Ensure the qualification or acceptance of manufacturing activities
- Monitor operations and ensure systems are synchronized between laboratories and external manufacturing sites
- Ensure necessary and appropriate communication within the project team and coordinate interfaces outside of the project team with core team members
- Support the technical team to investigate project challenges with necessary risk assessment tools and techniques
- Evaluate and assesse project results and provide recommendations for future improvement as part of a continuous improvement effort
- Adhere to EHS standards and practises
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Science with at least 10 years of relevant working experience in operations with contract development and manufacturing organizations
- Experience in biological manufacturing including fermentation, chromatography, and downstream purification is a plus
- Flexibility and the ability to work independently, with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and handle ambiguity
- Familiar with external manufacturing selection and contracting processes
