My client is a world leader in the semiconductor industry and now seek an experienced Manager for Customer Engineering to provide technical leadership and guidance to the division

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve complex technical, operational and organizational problems
  • Forecast financial, manpower, and operational requirements for key businesses
  • Identify and pursue service agreement business in conjunction with sales and marketing
  • Manage startup, systems start up and warranty and local inventories and RMA procedure
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with Company service and system performance
  • Assume accountability for the performance and results of multiple sites or related teams.
  • Develop business unit, department or sub-function plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities
  • Interview, hire and train customer engineers to support regional business goals - set goals and achievements, establish training and development plans and ensure appropriate safety practices
  • Develop an environment of continuous engineering
  • Escalate system downs according to valid escalation procedure, to ensure earliest possible return to service
  • Achieve guaranteed up time and other parameters as sold to customers
  • Promote quality improvement processes to reduce cycle time and drive CI of technical performance
  • Apply in-depth understanding of how discipline integrates within the segment/function
  • Manage multiple related teams, sets organizational priorities and allocates resources

Requirements:

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering or equivalent with 12 - 15 years' of relevant experience
  • Prior experience in customer engineering or similar field from a semiconductor/equipment background
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and senior management
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
