Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility to develop Beta/Pilot build plan for new products and ensure accurate development at early design phase
- Participate in technical design reviews to ensure cost targets are tracked/optimized during design development
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes for system test and trouble-shooting.
- Setup complex project plans, across multiple resources disciplines, and drive to completion
- Analyze data and utilize modeling to drive process, specifications, and design improvements
- Provide manufacturability design requirements to designers
- Liaise with Supply Chain Management to develop cost analysis for outsource assemblies and support Supply Chain on RFQ, supplier selection, commercial and contract negotiation activities
- Manage engineering materials/tooling designated for support of Engineering and Beta systems
- Control cost changes due to design updates and implement ECO updates with suppliers, ensuring cost changes are in-line with engineering estimates
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes for system test and troubleshooting
- Setup complex project plans, across multiple resources disciplines, and drive to completion
- Provide field escalation support for analysis/resolution on issues requiring in-depth product design know-how
- Reviewing marketing requirements, develop system critical design specifications and design test methods
- Support beta testing at customer sites
Requirements:
- PhD or Masters in Optics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent with at least 5 - 8 years' experience in systems engineering
- Experience in NPI Programs and Systems Engineering
- Experience with Vacuum Systems, Electron Optics, and High Voltage for scanning electron microscopes or equivalent a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to support technical issues, set-up experiments, modeling, and data analysis
- Travel of about 25%
