Responsibilities
- Assume overall responsibility (including P/L) of manufacturing plant of over 300 and ensure policies and procedures are followed
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to meet customer satisfaction
- Develop holistic processes to maximise stewardship, safety, quality and productivity and manufacturability
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment / operator efficiency, and materials supply
- Plan and administer procedures and budgets and make appropriate budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures
- Select and develop personnel to ensure efficient operation of the production function
- Develop schedules and capacity requirements to achieve necessary shipment goals
- Monitor and ensure on-time delivery by troubleshooting issues with staff, sourcing channels, and logistics personnel
- Manage and oversee the entire operations department - production, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, quality, supply chain.
- Drive the team to meet on-time delivery, first pass yields and productivity
- Drive continuous improvement strategies and take initiatives to ensure Lean Manufacturing principles
Requirements:
- Advanced Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing with at least 10 years of working experience in an optics manufacturing, optical equipment, laser equipment manufacturing or related field
- Prior experience as an Operations Manager, Plant Manager or equivalent
- Stronghold with Lean Manufacturing, NPI, DfM and 6 Sigma
- Knowledge of lens manufacturing, lasers etc. would be a plus
- Strong knowhow of business and management principles
- Prior P/L responsibility would be a plus
