My client is a leading name in the optics industry and now seek an experienced R&D Laser Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Define required laser specifications and design and optimize laser system for inspection tools
- Evaluate various laser architectures to select optimum concepts suited for product divisions
- Evaluate laser requirements and translate them to sub-system laser specifications
- Develop prototype laser systems utilizing high-level system requirements while considering performance, reliability, serviceability and cost
- Conduct laser metrology test to demonstrate desired performance
- Clearly document and present concepts, designs and experimental data
- Liaise with cross functional scientists and engineers (laser, optical, mechanical, electrical and software)
- Ensure smooth tech and product transfer of prototype laser to product divisions, technical service support and manufacturing
- Select and work with strategic laser suppliers to ensure product alignment
Requirements:
- PhD/Master's in physics, Optics or equivalent with 8 - 10 years of experience
- Experience with deep ultraviolet laser design
- Stronghold with optical modeling tools and photo contamination control
- Prior experience in designing a complex laser system / optical subsystem
- Stronghold with utilization and characterization of harmonic generation crystals
- Strong proficiency with experimentation and excellent troubleshooting and data analysis skills
