My client is a world leader in the manufacturing of complex LED, optical equipment and xenon based equipment and now seek an experienced Engineer for product and technology transfer from US to Singapore and Indonesia
This role will require the candidate to be based 4-5 days in Indonesia for the first year. All expenses will be covered.
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility to drive the development and design transfer for Xenon and photonic products from US to Singapore, ultimately leading to mass production in the Asian facility
- Manage and provide technical lead to set-up equipment and process capability to achieve operational capability
- Manage and provide technical expertise to install transferred equipment/machine: perform buy-off with Indonesian Manufacturing engineers
- Work with Manufacturing teams to review process capability and transfer plan
- Lead Manufacturing Readiness Review as a part of gate approval for Product Transfer to Mass Production
- Determine and develop manufacturing processes by studying process transfer requirements, researching, designing, adapting manufacturing methods and equipment within the transfer scope
- Provide technical support to production transfer team on production equipment set up and critical parameter setting to ensure manufacturability using Measurement System Analysis Process Failure Mode Space requirement and equipment layout (Lean concept)
- Engage in development research/competitor analysis as input to future technical roadmap and conceptual design and research
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work-flow and equipment layout
- Provide high level manufacturing support to Manufacturing Team
- Manage / lead customers' sample request
- Work with Indonesian team to assure product and process quality (yield) by designing reliable methods, process capabilities and standardize document (WI, FMEA, PCP)
- Drive improvement program through Six Sigma/Lean activities
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Optics, Photonics or Engineering with at least 5 years' of relevant experience
- Experience with short arc, high pressure Xenon arc devices, or hermetic sealing with ceramics and general high temperature, controlled atmosphere braze experience will be a plus
- Knowledge of furnace brazing, vacuum deposition, processes and understanding design principles and methodology is an advantage
- Willing to spend 4 days per week in Indonesia for the first year of product transfer and spending 1-2 months in California in the first 6 months to facilitate product transfer
